9th Annual First American Bank/ Thunderbird Booster Club Golf Tournament

(Hobbs, NM) Friday, September 13, the 9th annual First American Bank/Thunderbird Booster Club Golf Tournament will be held at Rockwind Community Links.

 

The golf tournament is dedicated to student-athletes attending New Mexico Junior College, and all net proceeds go to benefit NMJC Student Athlete Scholarships. Over $250,000 in scholarships have been provided over the years from tournament proceeds.

 

Coming off of a stellar 2018-2019 athletic season in all sports, the 2019-2020 athletic season looks to be just as promising. In addition to the eight programs, NMJC has added two new programs: Women's Volleyball and Men's Cross Country, as well as the return of the Men's Track and Field program.

 

"It is a great time to be involved in Thunderbird Athletics," stated Deron Clark, NMJC Athletic Director and Thunderbird Booster Club Chairman. "We are excited for the 9th annual First American Bank/Thunderbird Booster Club Golf Tournament. It is always a great event, and all the funds generated from this event go to assist in the scholarship of our athletes."

 

The tournament is a four-person scramble with a team fee of $500, which includes golf, lunch, and prizes. The entry deadline is Tuesday, September 10. Lunch and a silent auction will begin at 11:30 a.m., followed by a shotgun start at 1:00 p.m. Prizes are available for the Longest-Drive, Closest-to-the-Pin, and a Hole-in-One. Payout per flights, based on a full field, are 1st – $800, 2nd - $600, and 3rd - $400. 

 

Opportunities for sponsorship of the event are also needed. Sponsorship levels are Gold- $1000, Silver - $500, and Bronze - $300. All sponsorship levels will receive their name on a group sponsorship banner. In addition, gold sponsors will receive two individual signs, radio promotions on KNMJ 100.9, Facebook & Twitter recognition, three basketball & volleyball season passes, and three basketball hospitality passes. Silver sponsors will receive one individual sign.
