Thunderbirds Send 9 to the TXNMJCBCA All Star Game in Brenham!!
The 2018 TXNMJCBCA All Star Team has been selected and 9 T-Birds top the list. The Junior College Coaches Association that represents Texas and New Mexico selects 4 all-star teams that represent the four conferences making up both NJCAA Region 14 and Region 5 respectively. The 9 T-Birds selected include Tristan Stivors, Ty Stephenson, Cade Acrey, Junior Ramirez, Mark Barillas, Daniel Hernandez, Rody Barker, Joaquin Ballesteros and Joab Gonzalez.
The 9 returners from the 2018 WJCAC Conference Champions will have an opportunity to perform in front of 75-100 college and professional scouts this weekend in Brenham, TX at Blinn College. The games will begin at 3pm and 7pm on Friday the 21st and then at 11am and 3pm on Saturday the 22nd. This showcase has become a huge spring board for many JUCO baseball athletes to the next level of collegiate opportunities.
Not to be over shadowed will be head coach Jimmy Durham who will be the honorary head coach of the Region 5 West squad based upon his success winning the WJCAC Conference title in 2018.
