NMJC sweep Clarendon

 

The New Mexico Junior College baseball team swept Clarendon College in the doubleheader on Friday to sweep the four game series.

 

The Thunderbirds won the first game in a 7-0 shutout win. NMJC won the second game 9-4.

 

In the first game Mark Barillas earned the win going seven innings with four hits and no runs allowed. He finished with 10 strikeouts to two walks. Adrian Torres had three RBI and Carlos Payano had one.

 

In the second game Pablo Suarez got the win for the Thunderbirds going 6.2 innings with six hits for three runs all earned. He had seven strikeouts to four walks. Zac Vooletich had three RBI, Payano had two, and Joaquin Ballesteros had one.

 

NMJC (31-13, 21-7) host Midland College on Wednesday at 2 p.m.
