Butz, Contreras and Vasquez Sign for the 2021 Season!!

NMJC Baseball T-Birds, Justin Butz, Jairo Vasquez and Carlos Contreras have all signed letters of intent during this early signing period for the 2020-21 baseball season.  Butz a sophomore transfer from Kansas State University and high school graduate of Frisco Heritage in Frisco, TX will move forward to play for former NMJC head baseball coach Ray Birmingham.  Butz will join the UNM Lobos next season following his 2020 campaign with the Thunderbirds.  Jairo Vasquez, the LHP from Boston, MA who played a big part in the success of the 2019 T-Birds that advanced all the to the NJCAA World Series this past May, will move on to Southeastern University in Florida.  Southeastern is an NAIA baseball power with one national championship under their belt.  Finally, the T-Birds will advance outfielder Carlos Contreras to Dallas, TX as he becomes a Patriot for the Dallas Baptist University team.  Carlos settled into the middle of the batting order for an explosive offense from the 2019 T-Bird squad.  Carlos joined the T-Birds after a very successful high school career for Lake Travis HS in Austin, TX.
