The New Mexico Junior College men's basketball team crushed Frank Phillips Thursday night, winning 80-59 in Borger, Texas. The win was the Thunderbirds 10 away from Caster Activity Center this season. Away from home, the T-Birds are undefeated.
The Thunderbirds had four players finish with double figure scoring, three coming from the starting five and one more off the bench. Shawn Olden led all scorers with 18 points while Roosevelt Smart chipped in 16. Damontrez Hawes had 11 points and Nnamdi Okoro chipped in 10 off the bench. Okoro also had a game-high seven rebounds.
With the win, NMJC imporves to 16-5 on the season and moves one game over 500 at 4-3 in conference play. The Thunderbirds will now prepare to host Howard College on Monday back at Caster Activity Center.
