NBA's Pelicans Sign NMJC Alum!

Former New Mexico Junior College men's basketball player Kendrich Williams signed a contract earlier this week with the NBA's New Orleans Pelicans.
Williams, who played at NMJC his freshman year, finished his college career at TCU starting all 32 games this past season, his senior year.
He went unselected during the NBA draft in June and became a member of the Denver Nuggets' 2018 Summer League team. Williams averaged 5.4 points and 5.6 rebounds in 23.4 minutes per game.
During his senior year at TCU, the 6-foot-7, 210-pound forward averaged 13.2 points per game and ranked second in the Big 12 with 9.3 rebounds per game. Williams was the second player in TCU history to lead his team in rebounding three seasons in his career. Williams, a Waco, Texas native, recorded 13 double-doubles as a senior, the second-most in the Big 12 and finished with 34 for his career. Williams' 1,125 career points rank 21st all-time at TCU and his 877 career rebounds rank fourth.
Along with being named All-Big 12 Second Team, Williams, was named USBWA All-District VII and NABC All-District 8 Second Team. Williams was also the 2017 NIT Most Outstanding Player while leading the Horned Frogs to the team championship.
Williams played his freshman year at NMJC where he earned All-Conference honors in the Western Junior College Athletic Conference. He averaged 10.1 points per game and 6.9 rebounds while helping the T-Birds to a No. 7 national ranking during the 2013-14 year as the T-Birds advanced to the second round of the NJCAA Men's National Basketball Championship.  Per New Orleans Pelicans policy, terms of the deal, which took place on Tuesday, were not disclosed.
