Demarcus Sharp, Keaton Hervey should make immediate impact

Highlighting the newcomers eligible for the upcoming season is the juco duo of Demarcus Sharp and Keaton Hervey

Sharp figures to be in line to be the Bears' starting point guard come opening night. He's a 6-foot-4 guard from Colby (Kansas) Community College and was named an NJCAA Division I All-American — joining him with Prim as the two first-team juco All-Americans on the roster.

Hervey is an ultra-athletic 6-foot-7 forward who is capable of playing multiple positions. He's a transfer from New Mexico Junior College and averaged 15.2 points and 5.4 boards last season. He started his career at Incarnate Word and he was offered by Drake, Arkansas State, Purdue-Fort Wayne and Oakland, among others, before picking the Bears.

Both players decided to play for the Bears without even visiting the university.

"I love that they're great kids and they want to be here," Ford said. "I love their athleticism and mobility for their positions. They can play multiple positions; they can guard people; they're just very coachable kids. I'm really excited about getting out there with those guys." I don't think their talent level is an issue. Whenever you're an All-American, you can play basketball and whenever you have the numbers and suiters that Keaton had, we're not worried about their talent level."
