NMJC's Powell, McLeod and Salter Qualify for FPC Rodeo Short-Go

    Frank Phillips was the host college for this past weekend's third fall SWR/NIRA Rodeo for the 2017-18 year held in Perryton, TX. NMJC's team members qualifying were Megan Powell in breakaway roping, Tee McLeod in steer wrestling and Hunter Salter in bull riding.

              Megan in breakaway placed sixth in the long go with the time of 2.5 sec., sixth in the short go with the time of 4.7 sec., and finished sixth in the average with the time of 7.20 sec. on two calves.

 

               Tee place second in the long go to steer wrestling with the time of 4.9 sec., eight in the long with the time of 8.9 sec., and finished eight in the average with the time of 13.8 sec. on two steers.

 

                In bull riding, Hunter scored 73 points in the long go for his ride, but he was bucked off during the short go taking him out of the average.

 

                 After three short days of practice, NMJC Rodeo will be at the Texas Tech Rodeo in Wolfforth, TX, starting Thursday, October 19 thru Saturday, October 21, 2017.
