NMJC Qualifies Five for Short Go WTC Rodeo

 

Western Texas College was host for the third of five SWR/NIRA College Rodeos this past weekend April 5-7 2018, in Snyder, Texas. NMJC had five members of its rodeo team qualify for the short go round last Saturday evening. Team ropers Luke Skodocopole (header) and Austin Young (heeler), steer wrestlers Tee and Tyce McLeod, and barrel racer Swaize Lee.

 

 

 

          Team Ropers -  Luke and Austin won the long go with the fast time of 5.4 sec, placed 3rd in the short go with the time of 13.3 sec, but still finished 3rd in the average with the time of 18.7 sec. on two steers.

 

 

 

            Steer Wrestlers -  Tee and Tyce

 

          Tee placed 5th in long go with the time of 7.5 sec, then he split 4th/5th in short go with the time 6.6 sec., this allowed him to split 4th/5th in the average with the time of 14.1 sec. on two steers.

 

           Tee place 6th in the long go with the time of 7.7 sec., then he placed 3rd in the short go with the time of 6.4 sec., which allowed him to spilt the average with Tee with the time of 14.1 sec. on two steers.

 

 

 

              Barrel Racing – Swaize Lee

 

             Swaize placed 8th in the Long go with the time 14.04 sec, the she placed 9th in the short go with the time of 19.15 sec. run, this allowed her to finished 8th in the average with the time of 33.19 sec for two runs.

 

             NMJC Men's Team finished in fourth with 285 point, Western Texas College was first with 390 points.

 

             Howard College in Big Springs, TX, will host the fourth NIRA/SWR Rodeo this season April 12-14, 2018.
