NMJC’s Swaize Lee Wins Women’s All-Around at HC Rodeo

 

               Howard College in Big Springs, TX was host for the fourth of five Spring 2018 SWR/NIRA Rodeos, this past week April 12-14, 2018. NMJC's Swaize Lee, sophomore from Brownfield, TX qualified in three events breakaway roping, team roping (header), and barrel racing to move into the short go which provided her the opportunity to make a run for the women's all-around title last Saturday evening.

 

Swaize Lee – Barrel Racing, spit 3rd/4th in the long go with the time of 17.60 sec., then she placed 5th in the short go with the time of 17.67 sec., and this allowed her to finish 4th the average with the time of 35.27sec. on two runs.

 

                         Team Roping, with her partner Lafe Allen (heeler) from Cisco College, finished 10th in the long go with the time of 7.9 sec., then they placed 4th in the short round with the time of 6.8 sec., which allowed them to finish 4th in the average with the time of 14.7 sec. on two steers.

 

                          Breakaway Roping, she split 8th/9th in the long go with the time of 3.0 sec. In the long go she had a NO Time taking her out of the average.

 

                  Swaize accumulated 145 point from team roping (60 points) and barrel racing (85 points) placings, to win the Howard College Women's All Around Title.

 

 

 

                 The NMJC Men's, team roping team Luke Skocdopole (header) and Austin Young (heeler) split 2nd /3rd in the long go with the time of 6.2 sec. but had a No Time in the short go taking them out of the average.

 

 

 

                 Last of five Spring 2018 NIRA/SWR Rodeos will be at Tarleton State University in Stephenville TX. next weekend April 19-21, 2018.
