NMJC’s Valdez and Crouch make it Back to Vernon College Rodeo Short Go

 

 

 

        Vernon College was host for the third NIRA/SWR College Rodeo of five this past weekend in Vernon, TX. Jesse Valdez, sophomore was the lone NMJC Women's Team member to make it back in the short go in breakaway roping and freshmen Payson Crouch made it back both in steer wrestling and team roping representing the NMJC Men's Team.

 

         Jesse split eight and ninth place in the long go of breakaway roping with the time of 2.8 sec., and placed fourth in the short go with the time of 3.4 sec., which allowed her to finish fifth in the average with the time of 6.2 sec. on two calves.

 

         Payson placed fourth in steer wrestling in the long go with the time of 4.4 sec. but had a No Time in the short go taking him out of the average. In team roping Payson's (header) Kyle Parrish from TSU and Crouch split eighth and ninth in the long go with the time of 7.6 sec., but had a No Time in the short go taking them out of the average.

 

 

 

        Next up for NMJC Rodeo will be the WTAMU Rodeo to be held in the National Center in Amarillo, TX, October, 11-13, 2018.
