McLeod Earns All-Around Honors in San Antonio

NMJC Rodeo took 6 athletes to San Antonio, Texas February 10th to compete in the College challenge rodeo at the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo. The Challenge featured close to 30 schools between the Southern and Southwest Region schools of the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association. Each school brought their top athlete in each timed event and qualified members in each rough stock event.

Leading the T-birds was sophomore Tee McLeod who won the event's Men's All Around championship. Tee competed in both the steer wrestling and team roping where he finished 2nd overall in the steer wrestling. Tee's first round placing was good enough for 4th in the round and his short round 2nd place finish propelled him to 2nd overall on a tough pen of steers. In the team roping, McLeod was heeling for fellow sophomore Luke Skocdopole where the T-bird duo was fast enough for second in the long round followed by a no-time in the championship round.

It was a great representation by the T-birds at showcase event between two of the toughest regions in the NIRA. The T-birds travel to Odessa College Feb. 21-23 for their next NIRA rodeo.
