Texas Tech Rodeo Ends the Fall Rodeo Season for the T-Birds

The T-Bird Rodeo team travelled to Lubbock Tx to compete at their final stop of the 2019 Fall season Oct. 31-Nov. 2. The Texas Tech red raiders hosted the 5th event of the Southwest Region's 10 college rodeos.

 

Highlighting the T-bird's success was sophomore Justin Long winning the Long round with a 7.6 second run in the tie down roping. Long, originally from Carlsbad, NM topped the field of 92 tie down ropers. He came back in the short round and had a 12.5 second run to end up 5th in the round and 5th in the average. This gave Long 100 regional points and tie's him for 11th in the standings with NMJC's Colton Able.

 

T-Bird Rodeo will be back in action starting February 9th in San Antonio, Tx for an invitational college challenge. The whole team will then compete February 20-22 at the Odessa College Rodeo.
