NMJC Rodeo Competes in Final Competition at the Tarleton Stampede

The New Mexico Junior College men's and women's rodeo teams will compete in their fifth and final rodeo of the spring at the Tarleton Stampede in Stephenville, TX April 18-20. The events will take place in the Lone Star Arena and admission is $10. Tarleton will stream the rodeo on YouTube, click here to watch.

The Thunderbird men's team had their best weekend of the year at the Howard College Rodeo. Jake Dunham finished second in average to score NMJC 120 points in the bull riding. Tanner Lockie placed third in average for the T-Birds in the tie down roping earning the Thunderbirds 80 points. The T-Birds all together added 200 points to their yearly total and now sit at 425 points this season.

On the women's side, Kyla Kelly notched the T-Birds 20 points in the goat tying. The points move the T-Birds to 13th place in the Southwest Region Standings.
