Bio

Stewy Kinley is entering his eighth year as the men's head rodeo coach at NMJC. 

An alumni of NMJC, Kinley competed in the Southwest Region in the bull riding and team roping, finishing multiple times in the top ten of each event. In 2009, Kinley claimed the coveted All-Around honors at the Western Texas College Rodeo. Hailing from Gladstone, Manitoba, Canada, Coach Kinley is still an avid team roper, winning multiple local team ropings, and enjoys spending time with his commercial and registered beef herds.

Kinley has successfully recruited and coached many college rodeo champions and Short Round qualifiers during his time at NMJC, including the following 2021-2022 wins:

Coach Kinley has two beautiful boys, Dawson and Korbyn, with his wife Tearney. The family calls Lovington, New Mexico home. Kinley is happy to coach at NMJC, as he attributes much of his success to his past rodeo coaches and is thankful for the opportunity to pay that forward.
