T-Birds Beat McCook Community College in First Game of Estacado Credit Union Thunderbird Classic

T-Birds win their first game of the Estacado Credit Union Thunderbird Classic against McCook Community College 80-61. 

The team had a strong first half keeping a constant 10 point lead on the Indians. T-Birds scored 47 points in the first half with 12 of those coming from sophomore Cabria Lewis. Freshman Danna Grenald grabbed 5 rebounds in the first half along with 5 points. 

The Indians trailed by 20 with 4 minutes left in the second quarter, finishing the first half behind the T-Birds 47-29. 

McCook played a strong second half scoring 22 points total. Lead scorer for the Indians was Kamelija Ignatova with 15 points. The T-Birds continued their lead on the Indians in the second half scoring 33 points total, with a 29 point lead in the third quarter.

Lead scorer for the T-Birds was Cabria Lewis with 15 points, 3 rebounds, and 5 assists followed by Delma Zita who contributed with 14 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 assists. 

The T-Birds are now 6-1 in their season. They will play again tomorrow, November 21st at 12PM MST against Community Christian College at home as part of their Estacado Credit Union Thunderbird Classic.
