Demisha Roswell breaks New Mexico Junior College 60m Hurdles record, ranks No.1 in NJCAA

Jamaican sprint hurdler Demisha Roswell continued the strong start to her collegiate career when she lowered the New Mexico Junior College school record in the 60m Hurdles at the Don Kirby Elite Meet on Saturday.

The freshman clocked 8.45 seconds to finished fourth in heat 2 and ninth overall of 23 competitors, mostly from NCAA Division 1.

The mark surpasses the previous Thunderbirds record (8.50) she set two weeks ago at the Pittsburg State Invitational and is the fastest in the NJCAA this season.

She broke compatriot Latavia Coombs previous record of 8.55 in the prelims clocking 8.53.

Last week at the Texas Tech Open, the former Vere Technical standout clocked 7.78 in her first ever 60m indoor race.
