T-Bird Track and Field Remains at #1
New Mexico JC earned the top spot in the nation for the second week in a row. It extends the program's record for most consecutive weeks spend at No. 1 to five, dating back to last year.
The Thunderbirds are fresh off competition at the WT Classic & Multi where they saw top performances out of Monique Grant (first in the nation in the heptathlon and fourth in the 100H), Siyu Gu (second in the discus), Moisha Barnes (third in the 400H) and Raheema Westfall (fifth in the 200).
Right behind them in the No. 2 spot was Barton (Kan.) CC who was also at the WT Classic & Multi event.
The Cougars added a plethora of times and marks to the index with the best coming from national leaders T'Nia Riley (100) and Fiona Richards (discus) to go with Riley in the 200 (fourth overall), Christal Mosley (third in the 400) and Nijah Roberson (fourth in the 400). The program's 4×400 also posted the top mark in the country while the 4×100 is ranked second overall.
Jumping up one spot to No. 3 was South Plains (Texas) which ties the program best mark received in a national rating.
The Lady Texans were at the Angelo State David Noble Relays were they saw top showings out of Janiel Moore (now first nationally in the 400H), Itzel Garcia-Santos (third in the 800), Ruth Usoro (fourth in the 100), and Dorcus Ewoi (fifth in the 5000). The groups 4×100 unit is also now fifth in the nation.
