In her final performance on the track for New Mexico Junior College, sophomore Kristal Liburd was the Lady Thunderbirds' high point getter as she helped NMJC to its third straight NJCAA Outdoor National Championship. Liburd finished the national meet, on her home track, with 15.5 points.

 

Liburd took second place in the long jump, clearing 6.46 meters. By finishing second, Liburd scored 8 points for her team.

 

She then finished third in the triple jump with a leap of 12.67 meters. Liburd's third place finish netted the Lady T-Birds another 6 points and moved Liburd's total to 14 points.

 

The sophomore's final event for the meet was the 4x100 relay. She ran the second leg of the relay, following Kelliesha King. Rachel Crutcher and Raheema Westfall. The Lady T-Birds finished third in the event with a time of 45.03 seconds and earned 6 points for the team. For her part of the run, Liburd was awarded 1.5 points, pushing her total to 15.5 points.
