Holli Reyna is entering her second season at the helm of the NMJC volleyball program. Reyna spent three seasons with the program (2019-21) as the assistant coach prior to her elevation to the head coaching spot.

2022- 

Holli Reyna directed the Thunderbirds to a 25-7 record in her first season as head coach.Holli Reyna was voted WJCAC Coach of the Year for the 2022 season. She also led the T-Birds to their first WJCAC title in school history in 2022.

Under her eye, NMJC set a school record in wins (25), conference wins (12), consecutive wins (12), home wins/record (10-1), and winning percentage (.781).  

Reyna helped guide the Thunderbirds to the Region V West Championship game for the second consecutive season. 

Reyna coached Iva Popovic to WJCAC Most Valuable Player (MVP) and All-Conference honors during the 2022 season. Popovic was third in the nation in kills with 497 in the regular season. Popovic also set the NMJC school record in kills on Nov. 5 in the Region V West semifinal. She recorded 28 kills in the five-set win over Midland College. 

The Belgrade, Serbia native averaged 4.54 kills and five points per set (No. 3 in the NJCAA). The freshman outside hitter was No. 5 in the NJCAA in points with 554 during the regular season. Popovic also added 355 digs defensively and 19 double-doubles this season.

As an Assistant at NMJC

During the inaugural 2019 season, the T-Birds finished .500 overall and had three athletes named to the WJCAC all-conference team.

The T-Birds 2020 season was grounded to a halt due to COVID-19 and the team was rebuilt for 2021 season. The Thunderbirds finished the 2021 season with a record of 21-11. The 2021 season had four athletes receive WJCAC all-conference honors, five athletes with NJCAA all-academic honors, and the first NMJC volleyball NJCAA D1 All-American.

Prior to starting the volleyball program at NMJC, Reyna was the assistant volleyball coach at Midland College and spent four seasons with the Lady Chaparrals.

During that time, Reyna assisted in leading the Lady Chaps to a 76-52 overall record, a conference title in 2017, and coached multiple WJCAC All-Conference players. Reyna spent two seasons as the head volleyball coach at Clarendon College (2012-13), and one season as the assistant coach at Vernon College (2011).

As an athlete, the Amarillo, Texas native played volleyball at Midland College from 2004-06.  In 2005, the Lady Chaps finished undefeated in conference and made their first NJCAA national tournament appearance in program history.

Reyna completed her playing career at Notre Dame College in Cleveland, Ohio where she played two seasons for the Lady Falcons, earning second team All-Conference honors both years.

Reyna graduated with a BA in Sport Management in 2009 and earned a Master of Education degree from Notre Dame College in 2014.
