T-Birds Finish 4th at Texas Tech Open; Gitahi Wins

The NMJC Thunderbird Cross Country continued its season at the Texas Tech Open.  The T-Birds finished 4^th out of non NCAA D1 Teams. They were 1^st out of the NJCAA schools at the meet.

The team was led by strong front running by the team's top three runners. Esther Gitahi won the race in a time of 17:32. This time puts her number two all-time at NMJC. Teresha Jacobs was 6^th in the non NCAA D1 scoring and 7^th overall. Her time of 18:44 puts her tied for 8^th all-time at NMJC. Lastly, Sharon Jerono was 13^th in the non NCAA D1 scoring and 21^st overall.  

NEXT UP: The T-Birds will head to Snyder, TX to compete in the Western Texas College Invitational on Saturday, September 16^th.
