T-Birds Finish 2nd at Region V Championships

The NMJC Thunderbird Cross Country team finished as region runner-ups, losing only to #3 ranked El Paso. This placing will now advance the team to the NJCAA Championships. 

Individually, the T-Birds brought home the most All-Region Runners (Top 10) of any school. "Anytime you put 4 runners in the top 10 at regionals it is a great accomplishment" said Coach Becker. Esther Gitahi led the way with a 2^nd place finish. Finishing in 5^th was Teresha Jacobs and rounding out the top 10 were Sharon Jerono (9^th) and Cynthia Kipserem (10^th).
