T-Birds Run Well at Region V/ WJCAC Meet
The NMJC Thunderbird Cross Country team competed well at the Region V/ WJCAC Meet. Dune Costes- 6th Place, Monifa Green- 9th Place and Montserret Rios- 10th Place all earned All-Region and All-Conference for finishing in the top 10. Also, just missing her 2nd Top 10 finish of the year was Alyssa Frausto. Alyssa finished in 14th place.
"We knew going in to the race that we would not have 5 runners to compete as a team. So instead we set individual goals to qualify for nationals, and each of the young ladies met the goal" commented Coach Becker. "All of the ladies ran well! Having three in the Top 10 is big" added Becker. "Alyssa's run was also very good she beat a lot of runners that had beat her all year long."
NEXT UP: The T-Birds will compete at the NJCAA Championships in Garden City, KS on November 10th.
