Brownwood, TEXAS
The New Mexico Junior College Men's Basketball team traveled to Brownwood, Texas to take part in the Second Annual Region V Shootout to take on Weatherford College for the second time in four games and defeated the Coyotes again by 20 points 87-67.
The Thunderbirds were led by sophomore, Randy Haynes who poured in a game high 21 points to go along with seven rebounds. Jalin Hart scored 14 points and added four assists and four steals. Xabier Gomez and Nnamdi Okoro each scored in double figures with Gomez chipping in 12 and Okoro adding 10.
Devin Wyatt continued his dominating inside defense and he blocked three Coyote shots to bring his season total to 53. Wyatt is averaging 3.6 blocks per game this season.
The Thunderbirds will play host to New Mexico Military Institute on Thursday, January 7 at 6:00 P.M. MST. NMJC is 12-5 overall and 1-1 in WJCAC play.
