Rodeo competes at Odessa
Odessa, TEXAS
The NMJC Rodeo Team had four rodeo student athletes qualify for the short go round at the Odessa College Rodeo this past weekend. This was the first of five Spring 2015 NIRA/SWR Rodeo's in order to qualify for the CNFR, in Casper, WY. in June.
Leading the way for the NMJC Men's Team was Wyatt Hayes in tie down calf roping splitting first and second in the long go with the time of 9.8 sec., he placed fifth in the short round with the time of 12.2 sec., and fifth in the average with 22.00 se. on two head.
Saddle bronc rider Preston Burr split third/fifth in the long go with the score of 70 points, he place fourth in the short go with score of 70 points, but was fifth in the average with a score of140 points on two rides.
Tyce McCleod in tie down roping placed fourth in the long go with the time of 10.00 sec., but missed his short go calf taking him out of the average and Kory McConnell in steer wrestling placed tenth in the long go but missed his steer for a time taking him out of the average.
