Thunderbirds survive sluggish start, defeat Howard

Big Spring, TEXAS

 

The New Mexico Junior College Women's basketball team traveled to take on the Howard Hawks and after a sluggish first half, used a 25 point third quarter to eventually win 54-45.

Alana da Silva led three Thunderbirds in scoring with 12. Dezirae Hampton and Nycolle Smith each chipped in 10.

The Thunderbirds shot 42% from the field.

Next up for NMJC is a home tilt with Odessa at home on Thursday.  Odessa comes into the contest 4-3 in league after defeating Frank Phillips earlier tonight. The Thunderbirds finish the first stretch of conference play, a perfect 7-0.  Game time is set for 5:45 P.M.
