T-Birds Beat Rangers in Estacado Credit Union Thunderbird Classic

The T-Birds went head to head with the Ranger College Rangers tonight for their first game of another Estacado Credit Union Thunderbird Classic here in Caster Activity Center. 

The T-Birds held a short lead in the first quarter of the game, but that lead was short lived after the Rangers gained 13 points in the second quarter. 

Freshman Danna Grenald put up 6 points in the first half along with 5 rebounds. Sophomore Cabria Lewis and Medina Camara both contributed 4 points. The T-Birds went into halftime trailing the Rangers 25-20. 

It was a close second half as there were over 8 lead changes between the T-Birds and the Rangers. The T-Birds scored 14 points in the third quarter while the Rangers scored 13 points trailing only by 7 going into the fourth 34-41. The T-Birds ended the final quarter with a win against the Rangers 54-48. 

Top scorer for the T-Birds was Danna Grendald with 24 points, 13 rebounds, and 1 block. Cabria Lewis finished the game with 9 points, freshman Bianca Juzzo contributed 7 points, and sophomore Madina Camara finished with 6 points, 5 steals, and 5 assists.

The T-Birds will play their final home game of the year on Saturday, December 18th, at 11AM against Cochise College in Caster Activity Center.
