NMJC women's basketball took the quick drive up to Odessa Friday afternoon to defeat Cochise 67-41.
The Thunderbirds finished the first half with a commanding 33-10 lead over the Apaches.
Sophomore guard Madina Camara finished with 18 points going 5-of-9 from the field and 2-of-4 from three. Camara also added four assists in the win.
Duda Raimundo, a sophomore guard from Sao Paulo, Brazil, was 4-of-6 from beyond the arc finishing with 12 points and three assists off the bench.
Sophomore guard Delma Zita finished with seven points, five rebounds, and three steals in the win.
The Thunderbirds shot 26-of-52 (50%) from the field and were 8-for-18 (44.4%) from the three-point line in the win. The T-Birds forced 24 turnovers throughout the game.
The T-Birds move to 2-0 on the year. NMJC will play Seward County Saturday, Nov. 12 at 2 p.m. MDT in Hobbs, NM.
