T-Birds Cruise Over McCook
Freshman guard Shu'Niya Ross scored 10 points off the bench as the No. 6 Thunderbirds upended McCook Community College 58-47 in Hobbs Friday night.
Danna Grenald led NMJC in the first half with six points for the T-Birds who took a nine-point lead into half 27-18. The sophomore forward finished with eight points and five rebounds on the night.
Bianca Juzzo added seven points and Sandra Magolico chipped in 10 rebounds in the win.
The Thunderbirds struggled offensively, shooting 23-of-63 (36.5%) from the field, 1-for-6 (16.7%) from three-point land, and 11-for-19 (57.9) from the line. The T-Birds forced 23 turnovers in the matchup.
The T-Birds move to 5-0 on the year. NMJC will play McCook Friday, Nov. 25 at 7:30 p.m. CDT in McCook, NE.
