Grenald’s Career-High Leads T-Birds Over Bulldogs

Sophomore forward Danna Grenald had a monster game Monday night for the Thunderbirds scoring a career-high 27 points and grabbing a season-high 17 rebounds in a 69-53 win over Clarendon College. The Clemson signee shot 12-for-19 from the field and now has three double-doubles on the season. 

The T-Birds scored 15 points in both the first and second quarter to grab a nine-point lead at the break. The Bulldogs were stifled offensively by NMJC shooting 26.7% from the field. The Thunderbirds controlled the second half, ultimately handing Clarendon their third straight loss 69-53. 

Forward Bianca Juzzo finished with 12 points and five rebounds. The sophomore was perfect from the three-point line going 2-for-2 in the 16-point win over the Bulldogs. Guard Madina Camara finished with a career-high seven assists. 

Guard Delma Zita had a balanced night for the Thunderbirds scoring nine points and dishing out eight assists. Forward Sandra Magolico recorded nine points and six rebounds.  

The T-Birds shot 27-of-66 (40.9%) from the field, 4-of-8 (50%) from the three-point line, and were 10-for-13 (76.9%) from the line.

The Thunderbirds move to 17-3 on the year and 6-1 in conference. NMJC will play Odessa College Thursday, Feb. 2 at 5:45 p.m. CDT in Odessa, Texas.
