The Thunderbirds took down No. 25 ranked Snow College 74-56 on Thursday, Nov. 21.
The game featured four lead changes in the first quarter. Snow took the 13-11 lead on a 3-pointer with 5:10 to go in the quarter. Snow ended the opening quarter with a 22-16 lead. This was the largest deficit all season NMJC has faced after the first quarter.
The T-Birds held the Badgers to 22.2% from the field during quarter two as NMJC outscored Snow 20-4 in the quarter to take a 36-26 advantage into the half.
Sophomore guard Cacia Antonio scored 11 of her 21 points in the third quarter. The Thunderbird lead expanded to 13 points after three quarters of play. NMJC finished off the Badgers in the fourth quarter to win by 18 points earning their third ranked win of the season.
Cacia Antonio went 2-for-3 from the 3-point line finishing with a game-high 21 points and five steals.
Pania Davis recorded 20 points and six rebounds. Emma Najjuma registered nine rebounds and Amyah Sutton finished with six rebounds. Jada Graves tallied six assists, five rebounds and 4 steals.
The T-Birds shot 30-for-70 (42.9%) from the field, 4-for-22 (18.2%) from the 3-point line, and 10-of-14 (71.4%) from the charity stripe. The Thunderbirds forced 24 turnovers.
The No. 3 Thunderbirds improve to 8-0 and will play McCook CC Friday, Nov. 22 at 6 p.m. MST.
