T-Bird (WBB) Crushes Plainswomen by 35

The T-Birds extended their win streak to 13 games with a wire-to-wire 94-59 victory over Northeastern Junior College on Friday, Dec. 13.

Sophomore guard Nuria Estrade recorded her third 20-plus point game in four games finishing with 21 points. 19 of Estrade's 21 points came in the first half with 16 points coming in the first quarter. The Spaniard finished with five 3-pointers in the first half. 

Forward Pania Davis ended the game with 10 rebounds, five points, and four assists in the 35-point win. Freshman Emma Najjuma recorded nine points and nine rebounds. Amyah Sutton was the Swiss Army knife for NMJC on Friday finishing with eight points, a career-high seven steals, and a career-high six assists. 

Guard Jada Graves reached double figures with 10 points, seven rebounds, and four assists. Liz Buendia finished with a career-high six points off the bench.  

Cacia Antonio came off the bench for the first time this season after nursing an ankle sprain. The sophomore guard finished with five points. 

The T-Birds shot 35-for-83 (42.2%) from the field, 17-for-40 (42.5.%) from the 3-point line, and 7-of-11 (63.6%) from the free throw line. The Thunderbirds forced 19 turnovers and held the Plainswomen to 33.9% from the field. The Thunderbirds scored 41 bench points to Northeastern's three.

The No. 3 Thunderbirds improve to 13-0 and will play Salt Lake CC on Sunday, Dec. 15 at 11 a.m. MST in Hobbs, NM.
