
T-Bird (W-T&F) Moves to 2nd Place on Day 2 of Nationals
The Thunderbirds finished Day 2 of the 2025 NJCAA DI Women's Outdoor T&F Championships in second place with one national champion and three All-Americans in Hutchinson, Kansas.
Freshman Tiana Petrova won the national title in the high jump with a leap of 1.74m. The Frenchwoman has won both the indoor and outdoor titles making her a two-time national champion and a two-time All-American. Her finish earned NMJC 10 points.
Esteisy Salas-Lozano ended her T-Bird career as a four-time All-American in the shot put. Salas-Lozano threw 14.86m to finish in fourth place and earn the T-Birds five points. Francesca Alvarado ran an 11:21.32 in the steeplechase to come in sixth place in the event. The sophomore distance runner's All-American finish added three points to the T-Birds team total.
NMJC scored 18 points during the second day of competition. The Thunderbirds end Day 2 in second place with 45 points and are just five points behind first place Iowa Western.

Day 1
The Thunderbirds finished the first day of competition at the 2025 NJCAA DI Women's Outdoor T&F Championships in first place with one national champion and five All-Americans in Hutchinson, Kansas.
Tania Millena Ancelmo Da Silva finished her career with T-Birds on top throwing 56.17m to win the hammer throw national title. Millena Ancelmo Da Silva is now a four-time national title winner, a four-time All-American, and has repeated in the weight throw and hammer throw. The University of Miami signee finished her time at NMJC undefeated having never lost an NJCAA competition.
The 4x800m relay squad of Emilly Silva, Tyfane Martins, Francesca Alvarado, and Jody Ann Mitchell finished national runner-up with their time of 8:59.26. The finish added a valuable eight points to the team total.
Athilia Pryce threw five meters past her previous personal best in the hammer throw to finish in fourth place with a mark of 51.91m. Pryce's All-American throw added five points to the team score.
Jumper Sofia Mosquera Rodriquez finished in sixth place in the long jump with her All-American leap of 5.63m on Friday. Rodriquez earned the team three points with the jump.
Kavel Ritchie earned a point in the long jump finishing with a 5.54m mark. The sophomore eighth-place performance makes her a five-time All-American.
The T-Birds ended Day 1 in first with 27 points and are three points ahead of second place Iowa Western.
