The NMJC volleyball team bounced back with a three-set victory (25-17, 25-9, 25, 25-20) over Temple College after suffering their first loss of the season earlier in the day.
Setter Sude Omerickoglu led the Thunderbirds with 17 assists and six digs. Right side Polianna Hernandez recorded nine kills on the night. Setter Taina de Lima Nunes added 14 assists, while libero Addison Carillo chipped in 16 digs.
Olivia Swipiarski and Iva Popovic both finished the match with six kills apiece. Middle blocker Nickilah Whatley also registered six kills.
The No. 15 T-Birds get the bounce-back win and move to 5-1 on the year. NMJC will play their third match of the Odessa College Invitational Saturday, Aug. 26 at 1 p.m. CDT against Panola College.
