Sophomore right side Polianna Hernandez led the T-Birds with a game-high 10 kills as NMJC took down Central Wyoming College in straight sets 25-16, 25-17, 25-15 in the first match of the Blinn Invitational.
Freshman setter Taina de Lima Nunes recorded 12 assists and sophomore right side Olivia Swipiarski posted seven kills. Sophomore outside hitter Iva Popovic finished with nine digs and five kills.
Freshman setter Sude Omerickoglu added 11 assists and five digs. Sophomore outside hitter Gaby Arias registered 16 digs and six kills in the three-set win over the Rustlers.
The Thunderbirds have now won four matches in a row.
The No. 9 T-Birds are now 8-1 on the year. NMJC will face Tyler Junior College later today at 3 p.m. CDT in Brenham, Texas.
