The NMJC women's volleyball team defeated Tyler Junior College 3-0 in a close contest Friday afternoon (25-15, 25-23, 26-24).
Iva Popovic recorded her second double-double of the season in the win over Tyler Junior College. The sophomore outside hitter finished with 16 kills and 10 digs.
Setter Sude Omerickoglu registered 21 assists and Taina de Lima Nunes added 14 assists. Middle blocker Nickilah Whatley finished with a career-high seven kills in the win over the Apaches. Libero Addison Carillo chipped in eight digs.
Outside hitter Gaby Arias notched 10 digs and eight kills in the Friday evening win.
The No. 9 T-Birds improve to 9-1 on the year. NMJC takes on Temple College Saturday, Sept. 2 in Brenham, Texas.
